October Faction is an American science fiction drama web television series created by Damian Kindler, based on the eponymous comic series by Steve Niles and Damien Worm. It premiered on Netflix on January 23, 2020^[1]. The series stars Tamara Taylor, J. C. MacKenzie, Gabriel Darku, Wendy Crewson, Megan Follows and Stephen McHattie.

Based on the comic book series of the same name, October Faction focuses on the incredibly unusual Allen family. Parents Fred (J.C. MacKenzie) and Deloris (Tamara Taylor) are monster hunters living a double life, and twins Viv (Aurora Burghart) and Geoff (Gabriel Darku) have to deal with the horrors of being teens in high school. After the death of Fred’s father, the Allen family relocates to a darkly mysterious town in upstate New York. What secrets does the small town hold, and how do they compare to the secrets the family’s keeping from each other?

J.C. MacKenzie plays patriarch Fred Allen. He previously played Dr. Arnold Spivak on Netflix’s Hemlock Grove and Governor Sam Evans on CBS’ Madam Secretary. Tamara Taylor plays his wife Deloris. She’s most known for doing over a decade of work on Bones as Camille Saroyan, and more recently appeared in Netflix’s Altered Carbon. Aurora Burghart and Gabriel Darku play the Allen twins. Burghart previously appeared in the BBC dramedy There She Goes, and Darku had roles in Netflix’s Slasher and YouTube’s Impulse.

The series also stars Wendy Crewson (Saving Hope), Megan Follows (Reign), Stephen McHattie (Orphan Black), and Maxim Roy (Shadowhunters).

October Faction follows the story of “globetrotting monster hunters Fred and Deloris Allen who, after the death of Fred’s father, return to their hometown in upstate New York with their teenage children Geoff and Viv. As the family adjusts, Fred and Deloris must hide their identities as members of a secret organization, and our heroes quickly discover that their new small-town setting isn’t as idyllic as it seems”.
